The Sanctuary of Truth in Pattaya - Thailand

Reposting photos from 2010 at The Sanctuary of Truth in Pattaya. Yes old photos but not much has been changing here. The Sanctuary of Truth is a never ending construction (since 1981) of a wooden temple like building representing Heaven, Earth, Father, Mother, Moon, Sun and Stars. Although I have been living a long time in Pattaya I did never visit it, regarding it as a bit expensive tourist trap. Until family came along and I thought “OK lets try it”. An unexpected beautiful side of the so negative famous area of Pattaya. Yes, beyond the high-lights and that always smiling Thai face there is another Thailand. Following are some of the many photos that were made.

And although the all package at the entrance gives you indeed the feeling of just walking into a tourist trap, visiting the construction of building itself will wake you up big time. Actually it is a really amazing very huge wooden temple look-alike masterpiece of craftsmanship and art! Everywhere you look, really everywhere, there are wooden sculptures. Made in detail that makes you wonder how long it will take them to ever finish this. More amazing is that it is a private initiative of a very wealthy Thai family. It is located at the end of Soi 12 of Naklua road, north of Pattaya City. For more information see Sanctuary of truth.
