Staying at 5 hotels in Lampang

R-Lampang Guesthouse
When I visited the guesthouse in May 2010  it was a pleasant surprise to see a new guesthouse in Lampang along the Wang river. It has 9 rooms and there all a little bit different but all have TV, Airco and private bathroom with shower only. Price does not inc. breakfast but they have a simple but good restaurant. There is parking for a few cars but of course no swimming pool. The staff is friendly and helpful. For me the only bad thing is the hard mattress. The have bicycles and motorbikes for rent. The location is very good at Thanon Kaad Kong-Ta where in the weekend is the night market. See R-Lampang

Riverside Guesthouse
The last time I did visit it was in 2008 although it was a longtime favourite of mine and it is along the Wang River in the city of Lampang. It has about 15 rooms in different price range. Of course no swimming pool and no parking. They serve a small but good breakfast in their open-air restaurant. The changing & upgrading of the hotel has resulted in prices that I think are actually not right for what you get. Rooms are actually not really clean, bathroom is very small, beds are hard. Some people will still like it, but I do choose not to stay here anymore. But the location and the garden is still great as are the staff also. See Riverside GH

Lampang Wiengthong Hotel
The last time I was in this hotel was 2009 and it is one of Lampang's big and older tourist & business hotels. Long time ago it was a good hotel, but nowadays without any maintenance I would not recommend to stay there. Although the last time when I was in Lampang I saw that they at least at the outside started to renovate the hotel.

Akhamsiri Homestay
The last time I did stay here was in December 2009 and it is in the old part of town (with all the Lanna style wooden houses) and it is a "new" guesthouse kind of apartment building with simple but clean and modern decorated rooms with airco, TV, fridge and private bathroom with hot-water. And they have motorcycles for rent. The only bad thing for me is again the hard mattress, otherwise it would be perfect for me. See Akhamsirihome

TT&T Guesthouse
The last time I did visit this guesthouse was in 2009 and it is a old name in Lampang but at (again) a new place managed by one of the old owners. It is located in the old part of town along the Wang River and the main building is a wooden Thai house. It has a small garden and the rooms have shared bathrooms. I do not like shared bathrooms, but actually I think it is a nice guesthouse at a very nice location. See TT&T GH
