Planning a boat-trip in Halong Bay, Vietnam?

On the 17 February 2011, a tourist boat in Halong Bay, Vietnam, sank in the early hours, whilst moored for the evening. Tragically the accident resulted in the death of 12 passengers. See Thanhniennews

As for now all overnight cruises are suspended and some tour-operators have decided to take checking of the safety measures in their own hands and they suspend all Halong Bay cruises until they trust their own fact-finding. So if you are planning a trip to Halong Bay soon, check it out before you go! And when you are traveling in a boat (in Halong Bay or wherever) check the safety measures yourself. Are there safety-vests? Where are the ways out of the boat?
