Staying at Sheraton Pattaya Resort in Pattaya

June'2011 The hotel is located on the hill between Pattaya and Jomtien, just next to The Royal Cliff Hotel. The hotel is part of the StarWood Hotels & Resorts. At the lobby with stunning view over the Gulf of Siam (and Koh Larn in sight) we were welcomed by the gracious hostess of the hotel. She showed us the choice of our rooms "Garden View" or "Ocean View", identical rooms in the main building with a bathroom with bathtub and separate shower. And of course a nice balcony to sit and relax. The rooms have all that you might need like mini-bar, TV, airco and even Wifi (although it is not free ... even a bit expensive at 450 thb/24h). The hotel has 3 swimming pool and a private beach, parking for your car and of course a Spa. And 2 restaurant and a lounge to enjoy the best dinners and tapas.

The staff is friendly and service minded, the rooms are good but a bit on the small size and I think Internet should be free of charge (although you can use it for free in the lobby). One downside of the otherwise great location of the hotel is that it is a bit far away from anything. That is good because that is why you do not notice anything of the busy life of Pattaya but if you want to go shopping or have dinner somewhere else you will need transport. Of course the rack-rate's are too high, but walk-in guests will get the Internet-rate. Be aware that the Internet-rate's are excl. 7% VAT and excl. 10% service charge. And some price's are excl. breakfast and that costs 660 thb++/person. See Starwood
