Staying at Khao Yai Lumtakong Hotel in Pak Chong

July'2011 Although the hotel technically is in Pak Chong it is much better to say it is located along the highway route 2 at the intersection of the road leading to the entrance of Khao Yai National Park. Location-wise that does not look like a good location but once in the hotel you do not notice much from the highway anymore.

The rooms are big, clean and in contemporary style with wooden floor. Of course the rooms have TV, mini-bar, Airco and a private bathroom with shower-only. I paid 1200 thb incl. ABF for 2 persons, although the breakfast is a bit very simple breakfast. In front of the hotel is free parking and there is a nice outdoor restaurant overlooking the klong and (hand-made) waterfall. In the weekend they serve good food here. The staff is friendly and good. Of course there is no swimming pool or garden (but they are working on that). I do stay there because it is easy to reach (on the way) from visiting the family of my wife. As of holiday location it would be much better to stay in one of the many hotels more in the beautiful nature of Khao Yai. Not a real holiday hotel, but good quality on a handy location (for me). See (Thai language only) Kaoyailumtakong

Update 2016 : The hotel is expanded with a huge garden on the back side.
