Staying at Centara Hotel & Convention centre in Khon Kaen

This morning (June 2012) I had a grand tour of the newest hotel of Khon Kaen city. Another grand hotel of the Centara group. And with that the second hotel in its own class within the city. And an welcome addition in the rapidly growing city of Khon Kaen. Although the hotel has opened the door for guests it is not yet 100% operational. Just the first 7 floors are in use and 3 out of the 6 restaurants are open. And they are still working very hard at the entrance & parking of the hotel.

But they are working hard to fulfill their goal to have most of all operational with in 1 months time (so before 15 July 2012) which includes the swimming pool, the other floors, "Wok & Grill" restaurant and "London Inn". All others things are planned to be operational before the end of this year. The rooms all look very comfortable and of good quality, although a bit too modern for my personal taste. I am missing a bit warmth in the rooms. Although the rooms are actually not big in sqm they do not feel & look like that. The Deluxe rooms are on the corner and have bathtub and separate shower. The Suite rooms have Jacuzzi and separate shower. And the best .... the all hotel has FREE wifi. I hope that will continue to be true as I hate it to stay in a hotel where rooms costs about 3000 thb and you have to pay about 300 - 500 thb for internet access. The entrance and swimming pool area will give you the feeling of resort style instead of an hotel in the middle of the city. All together I think this hotel will be a good addition of accommodation in Khon Kaen city.

For business the hotel might also be a great option as it has a huge convention centre and separate ball-room for smaller events. And of course they have an soft-opening promotion, have a look at their web-site. For people living in Khon Kaen the international restaurants and "London Inn" pub will be an good addition to life in upcountry Isaan. See Centarahotelsresorts KK
