Staying at Sala Savanh Guesthouse in Savannakhet, Laos

Sala Savanh Guesthouse in Savanakhet, Laos

June 2012 The guesthouse is in an old colonial style building from 1926. It was originally a casino. Located in the in old quarter of the small city of Savanakhet and within 5 min walking from the Mekong River. The hotel has 2 big rooms downstairs with a big bathroom (and more rooms upstairs). The rooms do have airco, but a bit noisy. As said the guesthouse is located in an old house, so do not expect a perfect clean and modern place to stay. The matter a fact it is not really clean and all very basic, but it has the character of how Savanakhet must have been 20 years ago. I did not mind for 1 night although I am not sure I would stay here again. There are other and better options within the city. See Salalao
