Old Chinese shophouse in Penang, Malaysia

Chinese shophouse in Penang, Malaysia

Here a serie of photos from the past, called Blast From The Past. In 1998 we travelled from Singapore to Bangkok and made a stopover in Penang. As I have a special interest in architectural design of buildings and houses I made a lot of photos from old Chinese shophouses. The last time I was in Penang was somewhere in 2005 and as I understand the government of Penang at least did recognise that this old Chinese shophouses are a part of the heritage of Penang and they are preserved for the future generations to see how people lived in the old days.
