Vientiane boulevard in the old days

Vientiane boulevard in 1997 in Central Laos

Here a photo as part of a serie of photos from the past, called Blast From The Past. In 1997 we travelled for 6 months in Thailand, Vietnam and Laos. In those days Vientiane (Laos) was still a dusty little town or even a big village. Along the Mekong was a earth wall where you could enjoy food and drinks. But times are changing and nowadays this same street is along a park that is along the Mekong River. I am missing the old streets of Vientiane, but I am sure the locals do enjoy the new Vientiane.
