Dinner at Wine Society Restaurant in Udon Thani town

Sep'2012 Sorry not photos (yet) but I was too busy enjoying the good food and the good music of the live band. I was invited by an friend of mine who lives in Udon Thani and I am happy he did invite me. The restaurant is a shameless copy of Wine Connection, although with a Thai & Isaan touch in the food. And much more relaxed atmosphere. More a kind of pub.

We had and Isaan starter disk with fried chicken wings, fried pork and little friend Laap balls. A big dish that is much too much for 1 person. My main dish was an "Lamb shank" served with small cut vegetables and pasta. It took some time to serve but it was delicious! Not only the lamb shank but also the pasta with herbs. My friend has an "Veal Tenderloin" and that was soft and tasty. We did drink each 2 glasses of red house-wine and it tasted good although served a bit too cool.
All together we did pay 2600 Thai baht, but must be said that both our main-dishes were one of the more expensive dishes of the menu. Actually you can have an all set (starter, main and dessert) for 500 Thai baht (without drinks of course). So yes fantastic good food. But that's not all folks! The staff was attend and service-minded and some of them do speak very good English. The all restaurant is designed in a kind of pub and the best thing of it is the live band playing good easing listing music. And they play it not too loud so you can still have an conversation while having dinner.
