Travel Tips : Rent a car in Khon Kaen

Due to the fact that I did crash my car we had to rent a car for a trip to Mukdahan. There are a few car-rental companies in Khon Kaen. About 3 of them are near the Pullman hotel. We checked 2 of them. Both had good new cars and the price was about the price what I did find on internet. But the own-risk in case of an accident was a bit higher and not clearly stated. Like "For small accident 3.000 thb and for big accident 10.000 thb". But what is big and what is small?

At the airport of Khon Kaen are some other car-rental companies like Avis, Budget, Sixts and Thai-rent-a-car. Well, Budget and Sixts could not be bothered to open their shop while there are no airplanes going or coming. So we skipped them. Budget had an good price but their computer system was down. So that left us with "Thai Rent a Car" and that was an good choice.

I had check their price via internet already and they even offered me an somewhat better price. Include all the same insurance. So I think we rented a brand new Mitsubishi Mirage. A nice small car and very green on the gasoline with 1 litre of 91E20 for 22.2 km.

The staff of "Thai Rent A Car" was very friendly and service minded. So next time I rent a car I know where to go. They have offices in Khon Kaen, Udon Thani, Chiang Mai, Bangkok, Pattaya, Hua Hin, Krabi and even Koh Samui. See Thai rent a car
