Staying at the Lanna Mantra Hotel in Chiang Mai

Lanna Mantra Hotel in Chiang Mai
Oct'2013 Located along the Ping River, about 15 min driving north of the city centre of Chiang Mai. I liked the old fashioned style of this well taken care of resort with 4 main buildings, small swimming pool and restaurant. The hotel has limited private parking, free wifi and a restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner (although with a limited menu). We loved the nice garden with the big trees, it feels like you are in a park. Our room was comfortable and I loved the fact that the curtains make the room really dark. The lay-out of the room is a bit weird as you enter the room right into the bathroom. All rooms have private balcony.

The hotel serves a buffet breakfast in the open air restaurant. The breakfast was not bad, but quality-wise and choose-wise I would have expected a better breakfast buffet for a hotel in this class. A little bit improvement in quality and service would make this the perfect place to stay. Out of the busy city with the feeling of staying in a park. But still within close distance of the city for restaurants or shopping. For more information see Lanna Mantra CNX Update : I think the hotel has new management, renovated and changed name.
