Northern rail road closed for another month

Nov'2013 According to the Bangkok Post the northern rail road from Uttradit to Chiang Mai will be closed down for another (extra) month of repair work. Originally this line would be closed for 6 weeks and would open begin November 2013. Due more work that has to be done along the 300 km part of rail road the northern line will again be opened on 1 December 2013.

Well, it would still highly surprise me if they manage to "repair" (actually laying an all new rail line) within 6 weeks + 4 weeks = 10 weeks over a stretch of 300 km, and do it in a quality way so there will be no more derailments. For more information see Bangkok Post
