On every mountain should be a Chedi

Temples in North Thailand

In 2017 when driving on route 118 to Chiang Mai I saw a chedi on top of a mountain and thought "Let's have a look". It was a bit difficult to find as there is a village with many small roads leading to the mountain and only a few signs (in Thai only). And the last 500 meter is very steep. But we managed to reach the beautiful decorated Wat Phrathat Mon Prachao Lai with 27 sitting Buddha's and 8 standing Buddha's on each of the four sides. And from the top you have a great view over the all area. Although it is not far from Chiang Mai the temple is actually located in Lampang province.
