Blast from the past .... 6 months traveling in South East Asia (part 4)

Lopburi
In 1997 my wife and I took an sabbatical year and travelled for 6 months in South East Asia. Of course we made a lot of planning, but in the end we just did what did looked best at that moment. Actually the plan was to travel for 1 year, but after 6 months we did get the travel blues and returned home. For me this was the beginning of the end of my life in Europe.

We started in Bangkok and did travel to Vientiane and Luang Prabang in Laos. Then we travelled to Hanoi and Halong Bay in Vietnam. Then we returned back to Bangkok again to travel to Penang, KL and Malacca in Malaysia. From there we made a stop-over in Singapore to travel to Sumatra, Java, Bali, Sulawesi and Ambon in Indonesia. Again via Singapore we returned to Bangkok to travel to Kanchanaburi, Koh Samui, Lopburi, Lampang, Sukhothai and Chiang Mai. Following are small selection of photos of traveling in 1997 & 1998 in South East Asia.
