A day in Vientiane, Laos

Sunset along the boulevard in Vientiane, Laos

We are just back from a day to Vientiane in Laos. And I love the heritage of the French colonisation! After a wrong chosen place for lunch we had a after lunch snack at Pricco Restaurant. Of course in the evening we made a walk along the Mekong River and enjoyed a Beer Lao at one of the small bars / restaurants while enjoying the sunset over Thailand.

A bit later in the evening we had a dinner at La Terrase a wonderful French restaurant. Although the decoration might not be so nice trendy but the service of the staff is outstanding and the food was delicious! We both had a beef-steak and did wash that away with a smooth red wine. And that all for very good value for your money (in Thai Baht, KIP or US$). What makes you think "What the hell are Thai restaurants complaining about expensive import beef? And still not serving a good beef-steak!". Mind you our delicious beef-steak was ordinary local Lao beef. The next morning we said goodbye to Vientiane, but not before we did some wine shopping at "La Cave". We are good for a few days of wine!
