Coffee, Coffee and more Coffee in Nan town

Coffee Market in Nan - Thailand

This weekend there was a "Coffee Market" being held opposite the Wat Phumin. I am not a coffee lover so to me it did look more to a Coffee Machine Sales Market. And wow they are expensive! How can all those small Coffee Shops make money? On the other hand it was nice to see how Nan province is being promoted as coffee plantation area. Although also must be said that all those coffee plantations are in the mountains above 1200m. And well there used to be once a beautiful forrest there. And there are still some small privately owned coffee plantations with their own brand-name and sales. Most times this are former hill-tribe people who are supported by Royal Projects to setup a meaningful life in the mountains. For more information about Nan province see Destination Travel Guide Nan province, North Thailand.
