Traveling in one of the most remote corners of North Thailand

Doi Phu Kha National Park in Nan - Thailand

As said there are always nice surprises when traveling in one of the most remote corners of North Thailand in Nan province. Along route 1256 is a area that is famous for its ancient trees. No the trees are not ancient but said not to have changed since ancient times. On the photo above you see the "leaves" of an ancient palmtree. A wonderful spot to sit and relax. In the afternoon the coffee shop will open. And to my shock & horror there is even free wifi.

Taking some side-trips from the 1081 you suddenly find some very nice valleys along small rivers. Like here near Khun Nan National Park. Unfortunately tourism is creeping in so in a few years paradise might be lost. For more information about the beautiful Nan province in North Thailand see Destination Travel Guide Nan - Thailand.
