Road Condition update : Route 101 in Nan

13 January 2017 : With a deadline of 18 January they are working hard on the 18km road construction at route 101, just south of Tha Wang Pha. The 2 small bridges are more or less finished. The main bridge over the Nan River is far from being finished. This also means that about 900m meter of road is still not covered with asfalt. For the rest all the road is re-surfaced and some parts even have lines painted. But there are still no lights, reflectors or any other things that makes driving or riding this part safe at night.

And a stretch starting about 10km before Pua is partly being resurfaced ... that means that they first destroy the left & right side of 2 meters of asfalt. And for the moment this is it. That means that for motorbikes / scooters it is very uncomfortable to ride on the side of the road. So motorbikes / scooters will ride almost on the middle of the road. Watch out and be careful!

On the bright side .... on multiple locations they are working on installing light-poles, reflectors and safety-guard-rails. For more information about the beautiful Nan province see Destination Travel Guide Nan, North Thailand.
