Visiting Doi Inthanon National Park in Chiang Mai

 Traveling in North Thailand
Pine trees at Doi Inthanon in Chiang Mai, North Thailand

Doi Inthanon is the highest mountain of Thailand, with a top of 2565m high. The mountain range is located about 90 km south-west of Chiang Mai city. Due to its height it is always cool and fresh / green. The mountain range is also home to Karen hill-tribes and nowadays coffee plantations that produce a fine arabica coffee. Of course there are many waterfalls and wonderful hiking trails.

When we were there last week it was 8℃ at 6:00am in the morning and at 13:00 in the afternoon it was 14℃. While in Chiang Mai city it was about 38℃! We did visit 3 waterfalls and although it has not been raining for about 3 months there was still a lot of water at the waterfalls.  So when you are in Chiang Mai a visit to Doi Inthanon is highly recommended!
