Travel Tips : The Royal Cremation is set for 26 October 2017

[2 May 2017] The date seems set for the Royal cremation of the late Bhumibol Adulyadej, who passed away on 13 October 2016. The royal cremation ceremonies are scheduled for Oct 25-29 2017 with the cremation itself to be held on Thursday Oct 26, which has been declared a public holiday. The cremation will take place at the royal cremation at Sanam Luang (in front of the Grand Palace).

It will be an grand happening and a milestone in the history of Thailand. And it might be a great experience to be in Thailand that week. But it might also change your holiday planning a bit. So if you are planning to travel in Bangkok or Thailand then it might be a good idea to take this into account and inform yourself about what is happening and what might be closed. I assume that the Grand Palace will be closed in that week. For more information seeBangkok Post : October 26 set for royal cremation
