Visiting the Wat Phra That Beng Sakat in Pua

View from the Wat Phra That Beng Sakat in Pua

This morning we had to be in Pua and as I had been reading about this temple I thought "Let's have a look". The temple is located in Pua town on a hill overlooking the valley of Pua with the Doi Phu Kha mountains in the background. Pua was the area where is said to be the first settlement on Nan province, and the place of this temple is said to be a part of it. What is showed by an replica of an small part of an old city wall. The temple itself is not old. The most extravagant to see is the 3 headed naga / dragon protecting the stairs to the temple.  For more information about the beautiful Nan province in North Thailand see Destination Travel Guide Nan - Thailand.
