Different people, different entrances

Traveling in Thailand
Entrance of the White Temple in Chiang Rai - Thailand

Photo above is the entrance at the White Temple in Chiang Rai with different entrance, one for Thai people and for foreigners. And well not only different entrances but also different entrance prices. And of course non-Thai are invited to pay "only" 50 Thai baht entrance while for Thai the entrance is free. Now you might think "Well let the poor Thai people get in for free" but first of all this is a tourist attraction not a real temple. And most Thai people visiting here are not poor. So personally I see no reason for different prices.
