Travel Tips : Traveling by train to Cambodia

Many people use Thailand as a hub to travel in South East Asia. That means they will fly in & out at Bangkok, travel in Thailand and then travel also to one of the neighbouring countries like Malaysia, Myanmar, Laos or Cambodia. Now you could fly to any of those countries from Thailand but when you are already traveling in Thailand it would be much cheaper to travel over land to any of those countries. Most people going to Cambodia will be passing the International border Aranya Phrathet - Poi Pet. Until now that would mean traveling by bus or train to Aranya Phrathet and then by bus or mini-van into Cambodia. But since July 2018 there is an train going from Poi Pet to Phnom Penh. At this moment it is still in a kind of testing stage but probably in the near future (in 2018) there will be trains going straight from Thailand into Cambodia and all the way to Phnom Penh. A great way of traveling to Cambodia. This route will NOT be passing Siem Reap.
