A beach at Huai Yuen in Nan

Due to the lack of a real beach in North Thailand during the hot season (March & April) rivers are used to create beach-like places. And as in Nan province are many rivers there are also many beach-like places like this. There are fixed or floating bamboo sala's where you can sit & relax while enjoy food & drink and maybe even a kind of swimming. Photo above & under were made along the Nan River near the village Huai Yuen. This village is along route 101 between Nan town and Tha Wang Pha. From here you take a small road (some parts are a dirt track) and after 2 km you end up along the Nan River. Parking right next to the river. Most Thai people come here in the afternoon, starting at 15:00 or 16:00. At this place there is limited food & drinks, limited in choice. Of course all spicy Thai food.
