It is August, raining season 2020 and many Thai tourists come to Nan province to enjoy the sea of clouds in the mountains of Doi Phu Kha. And we living in Pua valley are only looking from our home to the mountains. As our homestay is not busy this week we finally have time to explore the sea of clouds in the mountains, so we made a trip by car from Pua to Bo Klua via route 1256 and then from Bo Klua back to Pua via route 1081. A trip of "only" 116 km, but 90% in the mountains with some steep parts, curves and maximum height of 1715m above sea-level. So it takes a few hours, including a few stops. Photo above is a new tourist attraction, the number 3 in route 1081 between Bo Klua and Santisuk. I am actually surprised that nobody is selling lottery tickets here. Photo under is the Yo River in Pua, coming out of the mountains of Doi Phu Kha. Following are photos I made during our trip and as last a map of the route we took. Enjoy!
