Staying at Sri Chiang Khan Hotel in Chiang Khan

Hotel Reviews Thailand

In March 2012 we stayed at Sri Chiang Khan Hotel,  located along Sri Chiang Khan Road but not on the riverside. As we did not have made any reservation for a hotel in Chiang Khan, we just parked the car in Soi 4 and walked over Sri Chiang Khan road. And the first hotel we saw was Sri Chiang Khan Hotel at the corner of Sri Chiang Khan road. In 2012 It was a brand new colonial style hotel with about 18 rooms. All rooms have private bathroom, air-con, fridge and LCD-TV. Most rooms have balcony and some rooms have river view (top floor front). They serve simple breakfast, but there is not a real restaurant. There is free Wifi in the all hotel building. But of course there is no swimming pool or parking, although nearby the hotel is some public parking space. The rooms are decorated in a natural modern way with a wooden look-alike floor and in bright colours.

We had the biggest room (suite), because of the somewhat better bathroom (with bathtub) and a real balcony overlooking the Mea Nam Khong and Laos. The room was very clean and we did both sleep very comfortable. And I loved the bathroom with the big bathtub and high quality equipment. And a good water pressure so you do not have to wait 1 hour before the bathtub is filled. Be aware that room price of hotels in Chiang Khan are a bit expensive and that price tend to hike up on weekends and holidays (when Bangkokians are arriving). Highly recommended.

One night in Bangkok and the world is your oyster

The journey of Traveling 2 Thailand did begin with One Night in Bangkok in 1985 and since 2009 it became a personal non-commercial travel blog as inspiration for traveling & motorbike riding in Thailand. Made just for the sheer love of traveling and sharing experience about traveling in South-East Asia. To travel beyond the beaten track & highlights. Enjoy!
