In 1998 we did travel to Laos and did stay a few days in Vientiane. The Wat Si Saket is my favourite temple in Vientiane. In those days this temple was not yet overrun by tourists and not yet tidied up to make it more "beautiful". So in a corner of the temple were many broken Buddha images just piled up. This temples is one of the only temples that was not destroyed during wars with Thailand or during the communist take-over of Laos.
