Gender of the third class

Traveling in Thailand

Photo above was taken some years ago at the toilet of a restaurant along route 12 near Chumphae in North-East Thailand. And for me this is a typically TIT. Yes, TIT. Foreigners living in Thailand use the term TIT, what means This Is Thailand. Explanation for people who are not familiar with the term Ladyboys. In Thailand there is a big group of man that fall into the "gender of the third class", born as a man but feeling & dressed as a lady. So this restaurant had 3 toilet area's, the first for women, the second for man and the third for ladyboys. Now I am not sure where Tomboys have to go? For more This Is Thailand postings click on the label TIT.

Update Dec'2014  : Too bad but someone must have complained about it ... it's gone! Of course the entrance came to the same toilets as for man.

One night in Bangkok and the world is your oyster

The journey of Traveling 2 Thailand did begin with One Night in Bangkok in 1985 and since 2009 it became a personal non-commercial travel blog as inspiration for traveling & motorbike riding in Thailand. Made just for the sheer love of traveling and sharing experience about traveling in South-East Asia. To travel beyond the beaten track & highlights. Enjoy!
