Beautiful mural paintings in a centuries old temple near Na Heao

Traveling in Thailand

Reposting from 2016. While traveling off the beaten track in the remote province of Loei I found a small temple in a small village along route 2113 from Dan Sai to Na Heao. The Wat Pho Chai Na Phueng is about 50m from the main road. Although there are signs for this temple it is totally of the tourist track and as I was very early in the morning there I had to ask a monk to open the temple. This is one of the truly amazing places to visit in Thailand. This temple is said to be centuries old and has beautiful mural paintings on the walls, both inside and outside. See also another posting about the Wat Pho Chai Na Phueng.

The World Is My Oyster

The journey of Traveling 2 Thailand did begin with One Night in Bangkok in 1985 and since 2009 it became a personal non-commercial travel blog as inspiration for traveling & motorbike riding in Thailand. Made just for the sheer love of traveling and sharing experience about traveling in South-East Asia. To travel beyond the beaten track & highlights. Enjoy!
