At 1 December 2016 there was a boat race and parade of 89 boats in Nan to honour King Rama 9. First there was the parade with as first boat a huge boat from the city of Nan and with the representatives (Pu Yai Baan) from the winners from last years boat race. The big city boat was then followed by 88 other boats. Soon after that the races did begin. It were 9 races between 2 boats, from the winners from the boat races last month. Each race takes 400m. And it is spectacular to see the energy & power needed to move the boats at highest speed that 400m. Following are many more photos of the boat race over the Nan River.
