Staying at Ibis Styles Sukhumvit Phra Khanong Hotel in Bangkok

Ibis Styles Sukhumvit Phra Khanong Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand

Yes again in a Ibis hotel. Last week we stayed at Ibis Pattaya and this week at Ibis Styles Sukhumvit Phra Khanong Hotel in Bangkok. The Styles hotels of Ibis are the economy design hotels of Ibis Accor Hotels. This is actually the third Ibis hotel in Thailand that I have stayed in. The first one was Ibis Riverside Bangkok. But back to Ibis Styles Sukhumvit Phra Khanong Hotel, as the name suggest the Ibis Styles Sukhumvit Phra Khanong Hotel is along Sukhumvit road in the area of Phra Khanong in Bangkok. Conviently located within 300m from BTS Phra Khanong station. Phra Khanong is still a real typical Bangkok area with shophouses, canals, markets and many small Thai shops. Although modern urbanisation is catching up in Phra Khanong and nearby are 2 small scale new shopping malls. The Ibis Styles Sukhumvit Phra Khanong Hotel is not nearby tourist highlights, all Bangkok is easily accessible because of the nearby BTS Phra Khanong station. And although it is only 300m walking there is on-demand an shuttle service available. I love that, because most time a shuttle service is only at very limited times or just 3 times a day.

The Ibis Styles Sukhumvit Phra Khanong Hotel Well is an international style hotel with swimming pool, parking, free wifi, restaurant and serving a breakfast buffet. And it is an Ibis hotel so the rooms are not really spacious but very well designed and our room had everything we needed. And for easy proceeding of the checking out the fridge is not filled but there is a vending machine in the lobby where you can buy drinks & snacks. I like that idea. Personally I would remove the empty fridge as it is working and consuming electricity all day for nothing. The design of the room is modern and trendy. Overall we had a very pleasant stay and good breakfast. And I like the location, convenient and still in a real typically area of Bangkok. You can book this hotel via the hotel website of Accor Hotels.

The good things
  • Good value for money.
  • Friendly & service minded staff.
  • Comfortable room with everything you might need.
Are there remarks to make? Yes a few small remarks.
  • The design of the shower makes the all floor wet, no matter how you shower.
  • Breakfast should be a little bit better. Like better bread and better Asian food.
  • For me personally the bed is too soft and the pillows to big.

One night in Bangkok and the world is your oyster

The journey of Traveling 2 Thailand did begin with One Night in Bangkok in 1985 and since 2009 it became a personal non-commercial travel blog as inspiration for traveling & motorbike riding in Thailand. Made just for the sheer love of traveling and sharing experience about traveling in South-East Asia. To travel beyond the beaten track & highlights. Enjoy!
