Old houses in Phrae

Baan Wichairacha in Phrae, Thailand

In 2018 we did travel from Bangkok to Nan and made a stop in Phrae. At an early morning we did drive thru Phrae and besides many beautiful old teak wooden houses be aware that there are many traffic camera's in Phrae town. Our first stop was at Baan Wichairacha, build in 2423 (1880). Unfortunately I could not walk around the house but behind the main building are more old style wooden buildings. And on the left side are unfortunately some modern shophouses that are somehow decorated in a style to match the old teak wooden house. Our second stop was at Baan Chao Nan Chaiwong, that is under renovation and for that reason closed until the end of this year. A last photo from an old style house of what I am not sure if it is actually old. The roof looks modern and brand new. If you like old architecture then Phrae is a must go place!

The World Is My Oyster

The journey of Traveling 2 Thailand did begin with One Night in Bangkok in 1985 and since 2009 it became a personal non-commercial travel blog as inspiration for traveling & motorbike riding in Thailand. Made just for the sheer love of traveling and sharing experience about traveling in South-East Asia. To travel beyond the beaten track & highlights. Enjoy!
