An old suspension bridge in Hat Pha Kon

Destination Travel Guide Nan, Thailand

In my serie This Is Thailand (see label below) here a photo taken a few years ago and you might be wondering what that is hanging over the Nan River in the small village Hat Pha Kon in Nan province. Well it is an old suspension bridge for people and following Thai safety standards it is not removed although it is not in use anymore already for many years. About 50m from this old suspension bridge is a brand new road for cars and people. What reminded me of the fact that you see many times a new building (house / temple / bridge / toilets) with the old one still next to it. Why? Too lazy to take the old one away? Or is there a cultural thing about not demolishing the old one?

One night in Bangkok and the world is your oyster

The journey of Traveling 2 Thailand did begin with One Night in Bangkok in 1985 and since 2009 it became a personal non-commercial travel blog as inspiration for traveling & motorbike riding in Thailand. Made just for the sheer love of traveling and sharing experience about traveling in South-East Asia. To travel beyond the beaten track & highlights. Enjoy!
