Due to the lack of a real beach in North Thailand during the hot season (March & April) rivers are used to create beach-like places. And as in Nan province are many rivers there are also many beach-like places like this. There are fixed or floating bamboo sala's where you can sit & relax while enjoy food & drink and maybe even a kind of swimming. Photo above & under were made at the Nan River at Hat Pha Kon (about 10km north of Nan town). Most Thai people come here in the afternoon, starting at 15:00 or 16:00. The good thing about this location is that there are about 8 small shops selling food & drinks.

The World Is My Oyster

It all began with One Night in Bangkok in 1985 and since 2009 it became a personal non-commercial travel blog as inspiration for traveling & motorbike riding in Thailand. Made just for the sheer love of traveling and sharing experience about traveling in South-East Asia. To travel beyond the beaten track & highlights. Enjoy!
