Visiting Vang Vieng in Laos

View over the Song River from Villa Nam Song in Vang Vieng, Laos

Reposting from 2008. Although I did make some postings about Vang Vieng I did actually not posted many photos of the beauty of the lime-stone mountains of Vang Vieng. In 2008 we were traveling in Laos and in Vientiane we hired a car with driver to bring us to Luang Prabang with a 1 night stop-over in Vang Vieng. Vang Vieng is a small village along the Song River where the main road is actually a runway strip. This little village became famous for its beautiful landscape of lime-stone mountains and tubing over the Song River. It soon became a destination for backpackers to drink and eat happy pizza. Luckily if you stay just outside of town you do not notice anything of that. We stayed at Villa Nam Song. The village might have changed a bit or maybe a lot but I have not been there anymore since 2008. Following are more photos of Vang Vieng.

One night in Bangkok and the world is your oyster

The journey of Traveling 2 Thailand did begin with One Night in Bangkok in 1985 and since 2009 it became a personal non-commercial travel blog as inspiration for traveling & motorbike riding in Thailand. Made just for the sheer love of traveling and sharing experience about traveling in South-East Asia. To travel beyond the beaten track & highlights. Enjoy!
