Birds in the rice fields of Pua

Living in Thailand
Asian openbill storks in Pua

The rice paddies are a kind of buffet breakfast, lunch & dinner for birds. And I love to see the birds flying around, although I am sure the farmers are less happy about it. I am not a bird specialist but I assume that this are the Asian Openbill Storks in Thai called Nok Pakhang. And although people say "Thai eat anything" there are actually still a lot of birds flying around here, not only the birds I call Asian Openbill Storks. I will try to catch a few other birds also. So following are a few more photos, heavenly cropped and made with my Sony RX100 M3 (at maximum optical zoom). For more information about Nan province see Destination Travel Guide Nan.

The World Is My Oyster

The journey of Traveling 2 Thailand did begin with One Night in Bangkok in 1985 and since 2009 it became a personal non-commercial travel blog as inspiration for traveling & motorbike riding in Thailand. Made just for the sheer love of traveling and sharing experience about traveling in South-East Asia. To travel beyond the beaten track & highlights. Enjoy!
