Close up of the Nan River in Ban Dan

Traveling in Thailand

In a previous posting about motorbike riding route 1081 from Bo Klua to Phu Phayak you did see some photos of the valley along route 1081. This valley is created by the Nan River and Wa River and at many places you can see the Nan River but difficult to get to. Until somewhere just before Ban Dan where the Nan River is almost at the same level as the road is. So I parked my motorbike along the road and did walk a 50m to the Nan River. Beautiful clear water and you could clearly see that there had been much, much more water recently. The Nan River was now about 10m width (and only 50cm deep) but after a lot of rain the Nan River will here be 30m to 50m width and probably 1m or more deep. I love rivers and made a few close up photo, like above and the 2 below. Just because I can. Photo's made with my telephone as my camera had an empty battery.

The one looking carefully can of course see that the photo's are not from the main stream of the Nan River but from water along the main stream (left after the big rain in the past week).
