A trip from Pua to Ban Wen in the rain

Traveling in Thailand

In the rain of August 2021 we made a trip by car from Pua to Ban Wen in the mountains of Doi Phu Kha. It is a simple and not so long trip in KM's, first route 1256 from Pua to Bo Klua and then route 1081 to Ban Wen. At the moment it is still lovely cool raining season and everything is beautiful green. The mountains are full of clouds, fog and rain. We did drive without a real stop to Bo Klua and a bit after Bo Klua is along route 1081 a coffee shop called Arpo De Marng from where you have a stunning view over the valley north of Bo Klua. Delicious hot choco was served, highly recommended! From there we did drive to the Ban Wen viewpoint where we did sit & relax and had a drink & snack that we took with us. After that we continued to Ban Wen where is at the moment nothing to do. We made a u-turn and did drive back to Bo Klua and back to Pua. Along the way we stopped at Lan Do Dao Viewpoint where is an also a coffee shop where local hill-tribe girls are working. They served a delicious hot green tea. Behind the coffee shop is a camping ground and viewpoint. A lovely day out in this times of the COVID19 crisis in Thailand. One night in Bangkok and the world is your oyster

The journey of Traveling 2 Thailand did begin with One Night in Bangkok in 1985 and since 2009 it became a personal non-commercial travel blog as inspiration for traveling & motorbike riding in Thailand. Made just for the sheer love of traveling and sharing experience about traveling in South-East Asia. To travel beyond the beaten track & highlights. Enjoy!
