A sundowner at Lan Du Dao in Nan province

Traveling in Thailand

In begin November 2021 at the end of the raining season it was a beautiful clear day so in the late afternoon we took the motorbike for a ride into the mountains of Doi Phu Kha to Lan Du Dao Viewpoint. It is not far riding but a roller-coaster of curves going up to about 1.300m above sea-level. So riding careful with my wife at the back it took us about 45min to get there. Just in time to buy some fruit juice at the coffee shop and settle at the viewpoint behind the coffee shop. At the camping ground people were setting up their tent. It was a stunning sunset and we enjoyed it so much that we did forget that we still had to ride back. So just after I made this photo we did ride back and on the way we saw a stunning orange & red sky over the mountains. But half-way it was getting darker and the last 10 km were in pitch-dark, what is not a pleasant way of riding in the mountains with curves. So next time we will be leaving a bit earlier. But we did still see people driving & riding up to Bo Klua.

One night in Bangkok and the world is your oyster

The journey of Traveling 2 Thailand did begin with One Night in Bangkok in 1985 and since 2009 it became a personal non-commercial travel blog as inspiration for traveling & motorbike riding in Thailand. Made just for the sheer love of traveling and sharing experience about traveling in South-East Asia. To travel beyond the beaten track & highlights. Enjoy!
